Our Story

From the courtyards of Wat Pho to Gulshan

How an authentic Thai healing lineage found its home in the heart of Dhaka — and how we keep that tradition alive, one ritual at a time.

A heritage rooted in Thai temple medicine

Traditional Thai massage was born in the temple courtyards of Bangkok over 2,500 years ago, refined into a precise healing art at Wat Pho — the spiritual home of Thai bodywork. Kona Love Thai Spa was founded with one purpose: to bring that exact, time-honoured lineage to Dhaka, without dilution, shortcuts or compromise. Every technique you experience here can be traced back to a Wat Pho-style training under master therapists.

Our mission in Gulshan

We exist to give Dhaka a true sanctuary — a place where the noise of the city falls away, where your body is read by hands that have practised for years, and where every detail (the linen, the oils, the music, the temperature) has been chosen for one outcome: deep, honest relaxation. We are unhurried by design. No conveyor belt, no upsell scripts, no rushed sessions.

What makes Kona Love different

Three things, kept simple. First, our therapists are certified in authentic Thai techniques — not generic spa training. Second, our suites are private, air-conditioned and reset between every guest with hospital-grade sanitation. Third, our pricing is transparent in Bangladeshi Taka with no surprise add-ons. The result is a spa that feels premium, professional and quietly Thai — exactly the experience our guests in Gulshan, Gulshan and Baridhara return for.
